Lucy Harvest Clarke Reading At Openned, 25th March 2009

[wpvideo SxaWACH1] Lucy was the second poet to read at the night. We heard about her through the poet Scott Thurston, one of the organisers of the Other Room reading series in Manchester. The first poet that read at the night was Jim Goar (editor of Past Simple magazine) his reading was excellent but unfortunately I forgot to turn the camera on for his performance. Just one too many things to think about. The flyer for the night is displayed below: openned-poster21

Redell Olsen Reading at Openned, 25th March 2009

[wpvideo 9hyA1FBj] Redell Olsen was the 9th and final poet to read at the Openned night. She also (like John) projected visuals onto the back wall. A stark and slightly abrasive movie (in a good way) which made use of repetitive sound: a woman dressed in black, scraping the 'Vane' of the feather from the 'Shaft' of the feather, placing it to her left and then repeating the process again. Apologies to Dell for missing the end of her reading, the tape ran out.

Recording The Brighton Scene: Sean Bonney At Desperate For Love, 2009

[wpvideo ifE5vcNp] Desperate For... Love is a reading series run by the poets Wolfy Jones and Alan Hay. It is an excellent reading series and well worth the trip down to Brighton from London, nice people, excellent poets, good music, low lit venue... what more could you want. This recording was made on Sunday 1st March after I took a trip to the beach with Klatch. There were many other poets reading at the night. The readings are held at Komedia, 44-47 Gardner St, Brighton BN1 1UN and the next Desperate For... event will be on May 12th and will feature the poet Francesca Lisette.
