A rolling stone gathers gold moss

A 50kg solid gold statue of model Kate Moss has been unveiled at the British Museum, in London. The £1.5m sculpture, entitled Siren, is by artist Marc Quinn and is one of several contemporary sculptures in the exhibition Statuephilia. Quinn's sculpture is said to be the largest gold statue created since the time of Ancient Egypt.

He's not laughing all the way to the Banksy

A number of works by guerrilla artist Banksy have failed to sell at a modern art auction in London.

Fungle Junk - a mural painted on the side of a van - was expected to make £150,000 but was withdrawn after a bid of half that price was made. A spokesman for auctioneer Lyon and Turnbull said the artist's refusal to authenticate the works was to blame.
