Women's Parliamentary Radio Books

Women’s Parliamentary Radio, an online radio station designed to give exclusive coverage to women’s issues and female parliamentarians, is proud to announce the launch of Women’s Parliamentary Radio Books. ... WPR Books is calling for submissions of poetry, fiction or prose, from female writers whose work explores issues affecting women with creativity and originality. The project aims to be a platform for writing which helps to position the feminist agenda outside of the established political arena, in order to enhance an understanding of how feminism and politics can affect women in new and unexpected ways.

More information is available here. Full details of how to submit are here.

Slavoj Žižek in Buffalo

Earlier today Slavoj Žižek gave a wonderfully contingent, wildly perambulatory talk on Hegel: "Is It Possible To Be A Hegalian Today?" Introduced by Joan Copjec and sponsored by the Center for Pyschoanalysis and Culture at UB, the talk ran nearly two hours. I was fortunate enough to catch the first hour on a hand-held digital.

I am therefore encouraging more manuscripts to be sent. Please see the lowdown at www.ifpthenq.co.uk or more specifically at http://www.ifpthenq.co.uk/contact.html for what the house style is. Replies will be reasonably quick although there is no definite time proposed. At the moment I only publish around two/three collections a year; so please bear that in mind but I’d love to see stuff.
